It was not easy to go and stand in front of a class as a teacher. Later I learnt that it required lot of preparation. Let’s see What I did.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>

I wanted to share my experience so it would be helpful for those who has a dream to teach SAFe course. <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

Pre-requisite<\/u><\/b><\/h3>\n

You must be a SPC \/ SPCT to teach a SAFe course with enough working experience in SAFe organization. Once I got SPC certified, I felt that I started my business agility for an enterprise journey being at stage “Conscious Incompetency” stage. I started questioning myself on what I should learn to teach Leading SAFe course but most recommended to start from SAFe for Teams.<\/p>\n

I felt that I cannot connect head and tail without Leading SAFe.<\/p>\n

I started off with Leading SAFe as I believe it gives the entire context of SAFe and recommend anyone teaching or learning to start with Leading SAFe (SAFe Agilist).<\/p>\n

Preparation<\/u><\/b><\/h3>\n

1. Complete course enablement (2019)<\/p>\n

2. Connect each and every concept to real world experience<\/p>\n

3. Read more details from ScaledAgileFramework.com<\/p>\n

4. Go through case studies<\/p>\n

5. Understand the context of SAFe transformation at each organization<\/p>\n

6. Assess an organization’s capabilities from leadership to developer level to understand their unique SAFe implementation challenges<\/p>\n

7. Learn what changes you can make for SAFe Agile transformation<\/p>\n

8. Go through student workbook<\/p>\n

9. Multiple times go through trainer guide<\/p>\n

10. Finally go through course slides<\/p>\n

11. If possible, talk to experienced SPCs who has conducted few trainings already<\/p>\n

12. I would recommend to shadow a SPC first and then practice taking few lessons before hosting a full training<\/p>\n

At this point, you should have a fair idea of how to handle an entire class. This is when, one may feel a conscious competence.<\/p>\n

I must thank my SPC trainer Ramesh Nori<\/a> who did my first 2 days of Leading SAFe course. I learnt a lot and started realizing why people do what they do. Agility is not just a team thing as most leaders think, it is the entire system to be educated.<\/p>\n

My First Day<\/b><\/h3>\n

On this day, I realized how teaching makes a teacher better at it. Every question made me think deeper and connect the broken data into interconnected network of information. Soon my brain said, “Hi, you started learning!!!”. It is true that I started learning & had a list of topics that I should re-read once again before going to my next class.<\/p>\n
